Yonkers

Yonkers Raceway is where harness racing meets history, New York traffic, and the occasional bag of soft pretzels. Located just outside the city, it’s been hosting trotters and pacers since 1899, which makes it one of the oldest tracks still running.

The track is a half-mile oval, which means tight turns, quick decisions, and plenty of chaos when the field stacks up going into the corners. If you like close quarters and drivers who aren’t afraid to take chances, Yonkers delivers.

It’s also the home of the MGM Yonkers International Trot — a race that brings top trotters from around the world to battle it out in front of a packed house. The local fans know their racing, and the betting pools are deep enough to keep things interesting.

Outside of racing, Yonkers ties right into the MGM casino, so if you bust out at the windows, you can always wander over to the slots and try your luck.
