Woodbine Mohawk Park is Canada’s harness racing hotspot, tucked away in Campbellville, Ontario. Opened in 1963, it was originally meant to handle summer racing while Woodbine in Toronto handled the rest — but now Mohawk is the main stage for year-round standardbred action.
The track is a 7/8-mile oval, which means it plays bigger than most but still keeps things tight enough to get exciting. Drivers love it, bettors trust it, and horses seem to save their best for it.
Mohawk is home to the $1 million Pepsi North America Cup, the richest pacing event on the continent. Every June, the best three-year-old pacers roll in and put on a show that fills the grandstand with noise, tickets, and the occasional beer spill. Add in events like the Maple Leaf Trot and Canadian Pacing Derby, and you’ve got a schedule that rivals any track anywhere.
On non-race nights, the place still draws a crowd with dining, simulcasting, and casino gaming. It’s the full package: trotters, pacers, slots, and plenty of Tim Hortons nearby if you need a recharge.
